With just a click of the mouse, there are more and more niche dating sites to cater for single men and women. Veggie Romance, Asian8 and Jewish singleton are just a few among the growing trend of dating sites. But now, young men seeking rich older women are targeted by the latest entrant into the $100 million dating services industry: sugar mommas.

 

Like Seeking Arrangement, many of these sugar-dating sites have been successful because they’ve adopted a ‘lifestyle’ dating business. Last year alone, approximately one-million students worldwide logged on to SeekingArrangement.com, with the average college ‘sugar baby’ receiving $3000 per month, according to the website.

 

The way these relationships work is a wealthy benefactor otherwise known as a  ‘sugar momma’ offer gifts and financial support in return for the company of young men, who are often strapped for cash. These companions are, more than often, students in their 20’s who are flocking to these sites as a way of paying off financial debts. Unlike traditional dating sites, the involvement of money seems to create a grey area between matchmaking and pimping.
