Open relationships – a controversial issue amongst members of the public. However, according to sex therapist Matty Silver, it is possible that the notion of monogamy is an overrated concept in Australian society.
According to Ms Silver, open relationships can only work for couples if neither of them is jealous of the other.
“You can’t be jealous,” she says. “I have seen so many people who have made their lives miserable because of jealousy and they’re not even in an open relationship.”
